With amazing schools in the district as well as private options, education is a priority for the residents of San Anselmo. Schools:

San Anselmo students attend one of three public elementary schools, districted according to neighborhood areas. Wade Thomas Elementary is a public, K-5 school located minutes from downtown San Anselmo. A California Distinguished School, Wade Thomas uses the Common Core standards and is highly regarded by the state. The school’s mission focuses on creative learning as well as problem solving.
 
Brookside Elementary School, located closer to Fairfax, is a public, K-5 elementary school for students in the Ross Valley School District. The school has an emphasis on social, emotional, and physical development to educate as well as inspire their students. Brookside students work together and practice teamwork skills inside and outside the classroom. Another elementary school is Hidden Valley, located in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood.
 
White Hill Middle School is for grades 6-8 and has students from all of the elementary schools in the district. A California Distinguished School, White Hill has award-winning STEAM programs as well as the core classes of Math, English, History, and Science. The parent community as well as the faculty and staff of the school support the students to be successful after middle school. White Hill feeds into Sir Francis Drake High School.
 
 
Archie Williams High School is a highly-regarded public high school for grades 9-12 that is located in San Anselmo. Archie Williams uses the model of learning communities within the school to create a smaller and more inclusive learning experience. About 1,076 students at the school are enrolled in academically rigorous classes, and have electives to pursue their non-academic passions.
 
The two private schools located in San Anselmo are San Domenico School and St. Anselm School. San Domenico, an independent Catholic school for grades K-12, is co-educational and the oldest independent school in California. St. Anselm, located in the heart of San Anselmo, is a Catholic, K-8 school focused on faith, community, and academics.
